About This Work
Willems's work explores the relationship between the universality of myth and life as performance. With influences as diverse as Caravaggio and Andy Warhol, new variations are created from both constructed and discovered structures, as seen in this Lake Ontario scene, created outside Port Dalhousie.
As shifting phenomena become distorted through emergent and academic practice, the viewer is left with a testament to the loneliness of our existence.
