About This Work
Windmill and Sky. Two archetypes that signify more than the machine and nature: they signify the relationship between the two, and the way that man has created one to harness the other, almost as if in an effort to free himself from the constraints and barriers erected by religion, and to assert his self-independence from previous societal restrictions. The sky, in Haastrecht, the Netherlands, is therefore a metaphor for using human ingenuity to reach for the previously unattainable.
