About This Work
Music is part craft, part technical skill, part art and interpretation, and in large part, hard work. Nothing says "music" like a wall of guitars, photographed by Willems in old Las Vegas. Because of the location, the image also serves as a metaphor for the interface between industrial entertainment and necessity, and as a marker of either quiet efficiency and human isolation–the viewer gets to decide.
